WHEN AND WHY DID THE FRIENDS START?

At the summer camp in 1999, it was suggested that the Friends of the 47th should be started. As there were so many helpers, Old Boys and friends, who were coming to the camp each and every year to help to erect the tents and marquees, ready for the boys coming to their annual camp. It was  thought that they could continue their support through out the year  and help with fund raising and at other BB events.
